October JAFN meetings!

The Upper Midwest Region will hold Juvenile Arthritis Family Network (JAFN) meetings in Madison, Milwaukee, Minneapolis and Sioux Falls in October. JAFN meetings are opportunities to connect with other families and children with arthritis.

Minneapolis, MN
When: Saturday, October 13, 10-noon
Where: *PLEASE NOTE THE PLACE HAS CHANGED THIS MONTH*: The Works, 9740 Grand Ave. S., Bloomington, MN 55420
Topic: This month we are having a special hands on meeting at The Works Museum in Bloomington. The Works is a hands-on, minds-on museum where kids discover how things work. Bring the whole family for this exciting opportunity!! Please RSVP to Liz Truax at etruax@arthritis.org or 651-229-5371.

Milwaukee, WI
When: Saturday, October 13, 10-noon
Where: Children’s Hospital – Wisconsin, 9000 W. Wisconsin Ave., Wauwatosa, WI 53226
Topic: Pediatric Rheumatology nurse Jan will speak about Child Life services and have a Q&A session with parents. She will also give a personal tour of the hospital! *please enter the same door you use to go to the Rheumatology clinic and go left of the welcome desk* Don’t miss out on this fabulous meeting!

Sioux Falls, SD

Topic: Learn about how massage therapy can help your arthritis! We will have a local massage therapist giving massages to both kids and adults and talking about the benefit of massage.

Topic: We will speak on school issues and juvenile arthritis. Bring questions regarding 504 plans and how to make your child’s school experience the best it can be!
